Quality Standards - Health & Safety Policy Statement

It is the policy of SUBSCAN TECHNOLOGY LIMITED that all its operations shall be executed in such a way as to ensure so far as is reasonable practical, the Health, Safety and Welfare of its employees and of any other person who may be affected by its operations, acts or omissions.  The Board of Directors, Managers, Surveyors, Assistants and Office Staff will actively pursue this policy. The person with overall responsibility for the implementation of this policy is the Managing Director.

SUBSCAN TECHNOLOGY LIMITED requires that a high standard of Health, Safety and Welfare shall be achieved and consistently maintained on sites, works and in offices operated by its staff.

SUBSCAN TECHNOLOGY LIMITED acknowledges the fact that Safety and operational efficiency are complimentary and that use of safe working practices, accident prevention procedures and techniques are the most important responsibilities of the Directors, Management and Staff.

The requirement of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and all subsequent legislation relevant thereto shall be regarded as the minimum standard of Health, Safety and Welfare to be attained.

Employees have a duty under section 7 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to take reasonable care for their own safety and of any other person(s) who may be affected by their acts or omissions and also to co-operate with the Company in its arrangements to perform or comply with any statutory safety obligations, which include adherence to the Company's Health & Safety Policy.

All employees, regardless of status, found to be deliberately and/or consistently negligent in the execution or performance of the Company's Policy on Health, Safety and Welfare, may be subject to disciplinary action or summary dismissal.

The Company's Safety Policy has been designed to achieve the following: -

  • Minimise accidents or injuries to all persons or property affected by the Company's operations as far as reasonably practicable by the provision and maintenance of systems of work that are safe and without risk to health.
  • Observe the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and all obligations, under the Act and under any other relevant H&S legislation .
  • To provide and maintain suitable and safe plant, equipment, tools, working conditions and environment free from risks to health and ensure that adequate provisions are made with regard to facilities and arrangements for their welfare at work.
  • To ensure that employees are provided with such information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to secure their health and safety and that all such training be recorded.
  • To ensure that employees observe and comply with safe working practices at all times, in particular by reference to any relevant Codes of Practice pertaining to any particular office, site or works operated by the Company.
  • To institute proper reporting and investigation of any incident or accident that may arise during the Company's operation.
