Subscan improves Achilles ranking for third year running

21 July 2011

Global procurement specialist Achilles has upgraded its audit ranking for Subscan Technology for the third year running.

Achilles’ register and its audit rankings are used by companies throughout the world to evaluate potential suppliers. Subscan is one of the few UK underground surveying companies to comply with Achilles’ UVDB Verify accreditation regime. A highly rated listing on its supplier directory is now recognised as a prerequisite for approved supplier status is the utilities, construction and transport sectors.

The auditors rated the quality of Subscan’s services at 94% and its health and safety at 93%. The company’s overall environmental performance had risen sharply from 72% in 2009 to 84% in 2010 reflecting the thoroughness with which Subscan has adapted its systems in preparation for ISO14001 certification.

John Robinson, managing director of Subscan, says, “This audit result provides objective demonstration that we really do put more depth into our surveys. Achilles accreditation is hard to achieve and even harder to maintain. Our improvement since the last audit demonstrates not just that we have robust policies, procedures and systems, but that our surveyors implement them consistently and to a very high standard out on site.”
